Flight (Mission) Detail     by Bill L. Smith

Goals of Flight:

Accomplishments of Flight:

Location:

Weather Conditions:

Instrument Problems:

  1. Looks like Christian Verwaerde was able to isolate the instrument from some interferences that caused some cyclic reset of the instrument head. During the 3 hours period where the instrument worked, only one period of cyclic reset was observed. However, after 3 hours of acquistion, the head was reset 10 times and never responded. At that time the acquisition system was shutdown and never reboot.
  2. POLDER shutdown at 18:24 and didn't restart.
  3. It has been deciced that for the next flight, the instrument will be powered from the same 28V DC as the NASA pod to try to isolate POLDER as much as possible from RSP.
  4. At this point, Scaled doesn't recognize any problem in their electrical configuration, nor potential interference with RSP heaters.
  5. POLDER team will pursue investigations on potential instrument failures.
